ACT Government Temporary Road Closure – Sunday 4 January to Monday 2 February 2026

Due to temporary closures to Northbourne Avenue from Alinga Street, we recommend allowing extra travel time. Detours, traffic controls and signage will be in place, with access maintained to the hotel pick up and drop off area.

Hotel Drop-Off Access: Please note for the safety of pedestrians and motorists, the drop-off zone in front of Novotel Canberra will be utilised as follows:

• Vehicles driving southbound on Northbourne Avenue should follow the signed detours to Mort Street and Bunda Street, continue straight through the intersection with Northbourne Avenue, then turn left onto Northbourne Avenue to access the hotel drop-off zone.
• Vehicles travelling east on Rudd Street will need to proceed through the intersection with Northbourne Avenue onto Bunda Street, turn around, and return to the hotel drop-off zone.

Parking Access:
Turn right onto Barry Drive and left onto Moore Street to enter the limited underground car park. Alternate car parking is located via Allsop St at the Secure City West multi story car park only a 5 minute walk to Novotel.
