Traditionally presented by Hit 104.7, as in 2024, Mix 106.3 will return to the event this year to bring back this beloved fireworks extravaganza on Saturday, March 15.

Skyfire started as a modest event in 1989 and has evolved over the past 30 years into an afternoon and evening celebration, complete with live performances, food trucks, and activities around Lake Burley Griffin, enjoyed by at least one-third of the ACT population.

In 2025, Skyfire will feature two entertainment hubs offering live broadcasts on Lake Burley Griffin, showcasing musical acts and hosts from both radio stations. The highlight will be a spectacular 20-minute pyrotechnic display launched from barges on the lake, accompanied by a soundtrack played in unison on Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3.

What to expect in 2025:

Southside markets
Two entertainment hubs with live broadcasts
Speakers for those who forget their radios
Large screens to catch all the action on the lake

The mesmerising aerial show will kick off with a RAAF Fast Jet Handling Display featuring an F35 Lightning Fighter Jet. Following that, a synchronized soundtrack show will include:

40,000 pyrotechnic effects
2,500 shells
25,000 shooting comets

The performance will commence at 8:30 PM and last for 20 minutes.
