Floriade will return to Canberra in 2026, transforming Commonwealth Park into a spectacular celebration of colour, creativity, and community. While the official theme for 2026 is yet to be announced, visitors can look forward to more breathtaking floral displays, live entertainment, markets, workshops, and family-friendly attractions that make this event one of Australia’s most loved spring festivals.

Since its debut in 1988, Floriade has welcomed spring with a new creative theme each year, some of our favourites being; Life in Bloom (2016), A feast or the senses (2011), Poetry in flowers (2002), and Aussie icons, myths and legends (2007). Below is some information on the last Floriade celebration, stay tuned for announcements and details for Floriade 2026.

Floriade 2025 Theme: Science and Nature

In 2025, Commonwealth Park was transformed into a dynamic space of discovery and learning with garden bed designs drawing inspiration from the most recognised scientific fields of physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology and botany. Embodying the excitement and adventure of experimentation and pursuit of new ideas.
