Floriade returns to Canberra in 2026, transforming Commonwealth Park into a spectacular celebration of colour, creativity, and community. Visitors can look forward to more breathtaking floral displays, live entertainment, markets, workshops, and family-friendly attractions that make this event one of Australia’s most loved spring festivals. Since its debut in 1988, Floriade has welcomed spring with a new creative theme each year, some of our favourites being; Science and Nature (2025), Life in Bloom (2016), A feast or the senses (2011), Poetry in flowers (2002), and Aussie icons, myths and legends (2007).

Floriade 2026 Theme: Feast of Flowers

Commonwealth Park will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of nature, food and community for Floriade’s Feast of Flowers.

Inspired by seasonal harvests and the rituals of gathering, cooking and sharing meals, this year’s theme invites visitors to experience spring through all the senses. Garden bed designs will reflect the abundance of the season, drawing on edible landscapes, florals that echo fresh produce, and the pleasure of outdoor dining and shared experiences.

Come hungry for colour. Leave full of inspiration.

Floriade is More Than Floral Displays

For those who love food and wine, there is a range of delicious treats on offer at Floriade. Sample local wines and beers, indulge in gourmet food, and even take part in cooking demonstrations and classes. Entertainment is a major part of Floriade, with a range of live music and performances on offer throughout the festival. You’ll find a range of family-friendly activities, including face painting, craft workshops, and children’s shows.

Floriade is a must see event for when visiting the capital. With stunning flower displays, delicious food and wine, a range of activities and entertainment, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of spring and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
